I spent the non-working day kickstarting my own IPPT season (that’s pretty much all that I train for these days), doing my first training run since around two months ago.
Along the way, I thought it was about time I improved ALLSET’s newsletter.
I’ve been wanting to put it to better use than simply blasting whatever the business has been up to, so here’s something for a change. 🙂
As you might know, it can sometimes be hard to get back into a workout routine or to keep at things that are not working out.
It was the same for me.
I’ve been procrastinating my own IPPT training, and I’ve not been drafting our newsletters.
Part of it is because I wasn’t a total fan of the old newsletter platform.
But after many years of coming back from offseason breaks, I’ve learnt how to make ‘restarting the engine’ easier.
The trick that worked for me is to give myself something to look forward to.
While that doesn’t guarantee a great workout season or a more leisurely journey, it does help me get started, and that’s sometimes the hardest part.
Speaking of which, we’ll see how this newsletter-writing stint season goes.
I’ve switched over to the substack newsletter platform after finding it neater than convertkit, and intend to keep the writing more personal.
There’re a few other things I’m up to for now, like:
1. Core Collective Sentosa launch: I’ll be there all day, doing 30min consults. Feel free to get your friends to drop by. More info on the registration page.
2. Weekly Community Workouts: Every Thu, 8-830am, The Promontory @ Marina Bay. It’ll be strength training that’s good before or after a run. Just let me know if you’re coming!
3. Videos! I’m always working on more videos. The next ‘sport science simplified’ one should be on foam rolling… unless you have suggestions!
