Hi there!
This is Jing, founder of ALLSET.
Top Three Healthy Ageing Highlights
👋🏻 A quick introduction if you’re new here.
I highlight three healthy ageing insights each week to fast-forward Singapore’s health span vs lifespan gap reduction.
If you know of anything I should include, please email me. 🙏🏻
Otherwise, here goes:
1. White Paper: Leaders’ Wellbeing the Most Influential Driver of Organisational Wellbeing
WorkWell Leaders, a registered charity in Singapore, published their white paper on organisational well-being last week.
A key finding:
Leaders' well-being is the most influential driver of organisational well-being and the third most influential driver of organisational performance
I summarised the other key points, the paper’s research methodology, and my initial thoughts.
On that note, if you are a C-suite executive looking for a health solution that aligns with your needs, check out the Healthy CEO Club I created last year.
2. Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Plan for Healthier Cities
Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority is exhibiting its plans for a healthier city at its office lobby.
Part of the showcase is accessible online.
One of the insights I gained was the above SingHealth Living Asset Map (LAM), which enables:
Crowdsourcing to create an up-to-date map of community programs, facilities, and assets
Collaborative use of the asset map for social prescribing efforts
Better urban planning for community assets, including hospitals and Active Ageing Centres
If you are interested in finding out more about the exhibition, or would like to give your inputs on how Singapore’s urban landscape can do better in fostering healthy ageing, check out the aforementioned URA page.
3. Hello, World’s First Non-Invasive Continuous Lactate Monitor
Traditional blood measurements necessary for lactate threshold testing interrupt your workout with painful and unpleasant finger pricks.
These disruptions can cause training and testing limitations.
Hence, IDRO, the world’s first non-invasive continuous lactate monitor, was created, and the company recently published a blog post on their progress.
I thought it was share-worthy since their eventual commercialisation can lead to widespread changes in how people work out.
Also, lactate testing will soon be available at my sports and healthy ageing lab.
If you want to learn how and why we will approach our testing service differently from others in Singapore, express interest through my company’s waitlist.
Paid Tier Research Summary Preview: Does Angle Variation For Isometric Training?
Our team sifts through key studies to uncover insights that may not be on your radar.
This week, we summarised a paper on how isometric training angles affect strength and power performance.
A key insight:
Isometric training at single and multiple joint angles produced equal results in strength gains, but training at multiple joint angles was better at improving power generation.
Learn more in our paid tier research summaries.
