Hi there!
This is Jing, founder of ALLSET.
Top Three Healthy Ageing Highlights
👋🏻 A quick introduction if you’re new here.
I highlight three key insights on healthy ageing each week to accelerate Singapore’s reduction of the health span versus lifespan gap.
If you are aware of any information I should include, please email me. 🙏🏻
Otherwise, here goes:
1. Singapore Makes Strides in Longevity Field
The Straits Times recently featured Singapore’s growing longevity sector.

The key news:
Singapore is emerging as a global leader in longevity science, with the NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity advancing to the semi-finals of the XPrize Healthspan competition for their work on reversing age-related decline in older adults
Both public and private sectors are investing heavily in the longevity industry. This includes a US$70 million venture capital fund and the development of wellness hubs like Longevity World, targeting mainstream consumers by entrepreneur Allen Law
Longevity is becoming a key pillar in Singapore’s tourism and healthcare strategy. Science-backed wellness experiences are identified as high-value tourism drivers and part of broader efforts to support healthy ageing in an increasingly aged population
2. What Matters Most in a Longevity Biomarker?
A recent review highlights what matters most in longevity biomarkers: biological, cross-species, predictive, analytical, and clinical validation.
Many physiological markers, such as VO₂ Max, strength, speed, and lean mass, all check the above boxes but are somewhat underappreciated.
On the other hand, most molecular clocks lack validation in humans, have unclear mechanistic significance, and are currently unreliable.

3. Five Questions I Often Get On VO2 Max Tests
In my latest article, I summarise the five types of questions I commonly get as someone who offers the VO2 Max test as a service:
What is it for? / What do you get? / Why do people do it?
What’s the test like?
How long is a session?
Do you need to train for the VO2 max test? / What do I need to prepare?

Paid Tier Research Summary Preview: Isometric and Hypertension
Our team sifts through key studies to uncover insights that may not be on your radar.
This week, we summarised a paper on reductions in systolic blood pressure achieved by hypertensives with isometric training.
A key insight:
Isometric training has benefits beyond musculoskeletal effects and strength gains - it can also improve blood pressure measurement if you already have hypertension.
