Hi there!
This is Jing, founder of ALLSET.
Top Three Healthy Ageing Highlights
👋🏻 A quick introduction if you’re new here.
I highlight three key insights on healthy ageing each week to accelerate Singapore’s reduction of the health span versus lifespan gap.
If you are aware of any information I should include, please email me. 🙏🏻
Otherwise, here goes:
1. How the Brains of Men and Women Age Differently
Myndlift recently published brain health insights from over a million neurotherapy sessions.
It includes sections on how the brains of males and females age differently.
Take, for example, the section on Alpha Peak, a particular brain activity frequency band.
A higher Alpha Peak is associated with better cognitive health, processing speed, memory, emotional balance, and the brain's ability to adapt to different mental tasks and challenges
Females tend to exhibit higher Alpha Peak values, which appear to reach their maximum later in life, around the age of 38; males peak around the age of 30
Despite the differences, female and male brains have one great thing in common: as we age, our brains adapt in ways that help maintain cognitive abilities

2. How to Improve Your Brain Health
Last month, I spoke with Teo Wei Peng, PhD, on his research on brain health.
Topics we covered include:
ways we can assess brain health
exercises to improve brain health
his biggest takeaway from years of brain health research
Check out the show’s timestamps and available podcast formats here.
3. How Photobiomodulation Benefits Brain Health
Research has shown that photobiomodulation can help:
enhance working memory, reaction time, and cognitive calm
ease brain fog, sleep issues, and mood disturbances
reduce neuroinflammation and secondary injury processess
I had the chance to get Liam Pingree, co-founder of Neuronic, to show how his photobiomodulation device works when he was in town earlier this year.
Let me know if you are interested in getting devices to improve your brain health; my team is exploring collaborations.
Paid Tier Research Summary Preview: Detect Decreased Physical Function Early
Our team sifts through key studies to uncover insights that may not be on your radar.
This week, we summarised a paper on the effects of physical activity on quality of life.
A key insight:
Early detection of decreased physical function and an increase in physical activity level could result in a better quality of life among the elderly
